Cryptogram puzzles are a fun way to help spelling words sink in for kids. These 1st grade spelling cryptogram puzzles each show a sentence that uses a 1st grade spelling word. Kids need to transfer the correct letter from the key at the bottom into the puzzle to uncover one of their spelling words. There are 288 puzzles (8 words/week for 36 weeks). It’s a great way for them to spend time with common letter combinations and patterns, and it will help reinforce the correct spelling of their weekly spelling words. Each puzzle prints on a half sheet of paper, there is an answer key at the back, and all the puzzles print in color, black and white, 8.5x11 and A4 versions.
