Sampe First→Then board showing work/play, recess/lunch, bathroom/candy, bath/story

First→Then boards are an effective tool for kids with Autism and other special needs. Pairing a required activity with an enjoyable one, and showing the connection visually, can help kids with Autism make it through the difficult task because they know they will get to do something fun next. You can also use First→Then boards to help kids understand any sequenced events, like first recess, then lunch. Knowing the order of events can help kids feel calm and in control.

Design your own first→then boards by choosing a color, writing your own titles at the top, and deciding whether or not you want a position marker for the (optional) Velcro. Try color coding them: one color for school subjects/sequences, another color for behavior modifiers, a third color for required tasks followed by a reward, etc.

When your board is ready, print it on regular paper, trim it down to size, and (if you want) laminate it. The ability to design as many first→then boards as you want comes free with the purchase of any Picture Checklist activity.

Ownership of any picture checklist activity will also let you design big picture clips (1.5" x 1.8") to use with your first→then board. The picture checklists you can choose from are:

Once you've purchased a picture checklist, you can choose your pictures, upload your own pictures, and write any text underneath each picture in any lanugage you want. You'll be able to print the picture clips you design, laminate them, cut them apart, and use Velcro to hold them in place on your First→Then board. Learn more

I also offer some other form factors to use with the magnets or Velcro picture clips. You can display them as a visual schedule in a single strip, or use them with a To Do / Done board.
